Chief Supply Chain Officer
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail

The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice”. This is a choice that has never let me down throughout the three decades of my journey! In my 27+ years with the Aditya Birla Group, I have leveraged my rich experience in leading functions such as sourcing, product development, manufacturing, and distribution to break the siloed approach prevalent in conventional supply chain operations. Before moving to my current role, I was head of the company’s export business, serving markets spread across the US, the UK, and Europe. In my current role as the Chief Supply Chain Officer for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, I lead the team that is providing a competitive supply chain advantage to the company. We were instrumental in setting up the supply chain for new businesses in the fashion retail space. Some of our proud projects/initiatives include the implementation of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) based retail planning & execution system, implementation of Product Lifestyle Management, and digitizing sales and operations planning. Starting with the group right after my MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute in 1993, I played diverse roles in sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution which gave me a 360-degree view of the Supply Chain function early in my career. I thoroughly enjoyed building small and big teams and developing people to take over key portfolios. An open mind, an undying passion to learn, and the courage to bet on learning ability are the elements that have taken me thus far. I am committed to transforming the Supply Chain Function in its current form to make it agile and digitally ready to enhance the overall customer experience. With the help of Artificial Intelligence and Digitization, the journey has just begun! The future is about leveraging technologies to extend the capabilities of people to a whole new level. I believe that getting this right will be one of the greatest leadership challenges of this decade! Other than the Supply Chain domain, I keenly follow the silent players and disrupters in the health-food space. I enjoy learning to play the keyboard along with my daughter and reading books in my free time. I will be happy to share my thoughts and pick interesting ideas from like-minded professionals.
