Mr. Krishan K. Batra brings over five decades of diverse global experience in Technology, Procurement, and Supply Chain Management. He currently serves as the President & CEO of ISM-INDIA, an affiliate of ISM World, USA, with a global presence across 71 countries.
During his distinguished tenure with the United Nations Organization as Head and Chairperson of Procurement & Supply Chain, Mr. Batra played a pivotal role in re-engineering business processes and implementing ERP systems globally. He worked closely with leading international institutions, including the World Bank, European Union, and the U.S. Government, to harmonize procurement processes across global frameworks.
Mr. Batra founded and developed the UNSPSC Classification Standard (Procurement Taxonomy), which leading platforms such as SAP, Oracle, and others widely recognize and adopt as a global benchmark. He has also represented the United Nations at various international forums, contributing significantly to sustainable and green procurement initiatives.
In addition, he serves as an Advisor to The Economic Times, focusing on leveraging emerging technologies to drive digital transformation in procurement and supply chain functions.
He began his professional journey with Voltas Ltd. after completing his M.Tech from IIT Delhi and later earned his MBA from Syracuse University, USA. Over the years, he has been instrumental in developing globally recognized certification programs in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, including emerging domains such as Blockchain Technology and Sustainability.
Recognizing the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Batra has led pioneering initiatives to integrate AI into procurement practices. He spearheaded the development of specialized training programs on AI in Procurement, including Prompt Engineering, enabling professionals to leverage AI for strategic decision-making, automation, and enhanced operational efficiency.
